Sprout social: GLOBAL EXPERIENCES

In January of 2019, I had been with Sprout Social for 2 years during which I drove the development and launch of a new product, Chatbot Builder, from the ground up in just 6 months. I then spent the next 1.5 years enhancing it for thousands of its happy, active users. With the Chatbot builder in a stable state, I broadened my focus and began identifying and solving for organization-wide product development inefficiencies. This led to my appointment as the Product Lead on a temporary ‘Cross-Cut’ team and ultimately earned me a formal opportunity to help establish a first-of-its-kind product portfolio at Sprout, ‘Global,’ which consisted of 3 teams dedicated to creating reusable product frameworks and technical services for consistent end-user experiences.

Sprout social: chatbot builder Suite

In January of 2017,  following the successful release of PowerPost and having only ever acted as a product team of 1, I was looking to join and learn from a more established product team and build for a larger user base. Enter: Sprout Social. I originally interviewed to PM one of Sprout’s flagship products but I was presented with two options in my offer call…

  1. PM the flagship product, Publishing, and its associated team as initially discussed

  2. Help vet and potentially build a product idea that the Leadership team was kicking around

    …I chose #2.

Powerpost: content marketing Collaboration

In April of 2015, I left my role as an Insights & Planning Strategist at Manifest to help get a new boutique marketing agency, 10X Studios, up and running. My initial role within the startup, put simply, was the ‘multiple-hats-wearer.’ I acted as the de facto HR, monitored accounts payable/receivable, crafted sales & marketing strategies… you get the picture. It was when helping my team with streamlining back-and-forth content collaboration with our clients that I became frustrated by the tools we were using and put on my Product Manager hat for the very first time. This resulted in the creation of PowerPost.

I’ve been wearing that PM hat ever since.
